Subject Overview: Political Science
The study of political science is primarily concerned with political power, governance and the state broadly understood. We are dedicated to developing understanding of institutions practices and relations that constitute public life and modes of inquiry that promote citizenship. Our department offers B.A. (Honours and Programme) Course under CBCS, which introduced on 2018. These course explores political behaviour, institutions of government, International Relations, Policy making, Protest and revolutions.
About the Department
The Department of Political Science, under the school of Social Science, started functioning in 2015. The Objectives of the curriculum designed in the dept. is to train UG students, focusing on classical themes and recent trends , the course content is wide ranging, the curriculum cover theoretical conceptual and empirical aspects of the discipline. This provides the students with necessary conceptual awareness to undertake further specialized studies and research work•
Vision and Mission of the Department
i) To impart quality education so as to develop scientific temper and spirit of critical inquiry.

(b) To develop the research potentialof the students in a learner – friendly environment.
(c) To help learners keep abreast of latest development in the discipline using updated technology such as Internet-enabled classroom and use of Ict.
